Weatherly cheerleaders collect donations for the homeless

Published December 17. 2018 12:04PM

The Weatherly Area cheerleaders have partnered with Family Promise of Carbon County to donate both time and resources to help those struggling in the community. The program is called Hooked on Hope.

The Wreckers are hooked on providing hope to those without permanent housing by collecting everyday items that could help make a difference in their lives.

Family Promise of Carbon County is a public charity whose mission it is to provide temporary shelter, meals and fellowship in order to meet the basic needs of families without permanent housing in Carbon County and the surrounding municipalities.

The public can help fill this need by bringing their donations to the Weatherly Area High School or elementary school by Dec. 21.

Ideas for the blessing bag donations include bottled water; any nonperishable food items such as granola bars, crackers, fruit cups, juice or hard candies; hand or body warmers, gloves and socks; personal hygiene products; and anything else that would benefit those in need.
