The Northwestern boys’ and girls’ basketball teams picked up wins against Pen Argyl on Wednesday.

The Jim Thorpe and Tamaqua girls also grabbed wins, while Panther Valley earned a victory in wrestling action.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Pen Argyl-Northwestern

Northwestern knocked off Pen Argyl 50-41 for a Colonial League victory.

Devin Thomas paced the Tigers with a 14-point performance, while Sam Seyfried netted 10.

Jordan DeFelice finished with nine points for the Green Knights (3-19).

Northwestern improves to 12-10 overall and 10-7 in the league.

Pocono Mountain West rolled to a 77-43 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference win over Pleasant Valley.

Eddie Germosan led four Panthers (12-10) in double figures with 19 points. Rafael Valentin tallied 16 points, while Jason Walker and Ishyne Pilgrim added 10 apiece.

Andrius Harrison-Gaddist netted eight points for the Bears (2-20).

A strong second half helped Northwestern pull away for a 54-31 Colonial League victory over Pen Argyl.

The Tigers’ Alexandra Lister finished with a game-high 16 points, while Emily Sekerak and Sage Christopher ended up with 12 and 10, respectively.

Northwestern moves to 19-3 overall and 14-3 in the CL.

The Olympians’ Leila Hurley netted a game-high 19 points, while Skyler Searfoss and Oliva Smelas finished with 10 points apiece.

Rachel Frew paced the Cardinals (11-10) with nine points.

Jim Thorpe improves to 20-0 overall and 13-0 in the SL.

Katelyn Himes led the Spartans (9-12) with 14 points, while Mya Wetzel added 12 points.

For the Colts, Matt Rehrig scored a game-high 15 points.

Panther Valley cruised to a 48-19 victory over North Schuylkill.

Chase Weaver finished with a Panthers’ high of 11 points, while Matt Engler chipped in with double digits, 10 points.

Shenandoah-Tamaqua

Tamaqua edged Shenandoah Valley by a 32-32 score

Sean Fisher led the Blue Raiders with nine points, while Gianni Valentine added eight.
