An Easton woman has been charged with homicide in the fatal shooting of an Effort man Wednesday night.

State police said Deani Powell, 19, was charged with homicide, robbery and aggravated assault.

She was arraigned Thursday night in front of District Magistrate Colleen Mancuso and remanded to the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and more details will be provided when they become available.

Two others were wounded in the incident.

State police at Fern Ridge said troopers were dispatched to a residence on Silver Maple Road in the Sun Valley section of Chestnuthill Township just after 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a shooting.

Police said Dylan Beinert, 22, was found dead. Two other people were critically injured during the shooting and were transported to Lehigh Valley Pocono Hospital for treatment. Their names have not been released by police.

Beinert was a 2015 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School. According to social media, he attended Northampton Community College and was employed at Weis Market.

Police said this appears to be an isolated incident with no apparent threat to the public.

They have not named suspects, but according to scanner transmissions, police were looking for a silver or gray SUV or crossover vehicle occupied by four people, believed to be armed.

The Troop N Major Case Team is investigating this incident, along with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office.
