October 19, 1946 — Mike Jaso catches a pair of touchdown passes and Lansford’s defense records a shutout in a 20-0 victory over West Hazleton. Jaso gets the Panthers on the board in the second quarter when he snares a 19-yard scoring toss from Clarence Fritz. The winners, coached by Al Klotz, extend their advantage in the third frame when Paul Vitek completes a 62-yard drive with an 8-yard TD run. Jaso adds an insurance tally in the final period when he hauls in a 28-yard scoring strike from Vitek. On defense, Andy Mahacek comes up with an interception to stop a scoring threat.
